With only a couple of weeks left until the big day, I just wanted to wish Emma & James the very best with their upcoming wedding and marriage. Both will be spectacular! Thank you so much for having me document part of your love story! xoxo
I’m thrilled that spring is just around the corner. I can not wait for longer days, new growth, and most especially warmth. To celebrate the coming season, here are a few of my favorite images from my many trips to the Arnold Arboretum last spring. I absolutely love this place!
Last month I joined a bunch of other wedding vendors and bloggers for an “Unplugged Weekend” getaway in Pittsfield, Vermont. We spent the weekend making new friends, touring the beautiful Riverside Farm, eating farm fresh food, and exploring the great outdoors. Ah, just writing about it makes me want to go back there right now!
The first evening we settled in at the Amee Farm Lodge, which is a restored post-and-beam farmhouse set on a hill. There we mingled by warm fires, met our host Courtney of Riverside Farm, and grew excited for the next days’ events. We weren’t sure exactly what was in store for us, but we knew it had to be good!
The following morning I started my day off right by joining a yoga class taught by Erlin of Perfect Vermont. Even though our group was made up of people with varying experience levels, Erlin was able to introduce the beginners to the art of yoga, while still making it interesting for those who practice regularly. It was a great class!
Up next was a guided tour of Riverside Farm, Vermont’s most exclusive wedding venue. I was blown away by the rustic charm and beauty of the property. But what impressed me most was the flexibility, and options wedding clients have when they rent the venue. Along with the two main barns, there is a bridal suite, groom’s cabin, and the white barn which is like a bunk house. Often times one of the barns is used for the rehearsal dinner the night before, and the other barn is used for the reception following the ceremony. There are also lots of places for close family, and bridal party members to stay. I also love that Courtney and her team are up for anything. They want to make each wedding special, and know exactly what local vendors will work best for their clients. They can even provide farm to table options, as well as locally grown flowers. Talk about lots of green options! If I ever get the chance to capture a wedding there I know it will be spectacular!
The remainder of my day was spent traveling around the area photographing the mountains wrapped in mist, and enjoying new company. I enjoyed delicious food from the Original General Store and in the evening Occasions Catering hosted a fabulous gathering for all the guests and sponsors back at the Amee Lodge. It really was so much fun!
The next day I decided to change things up, and try something new. I love hiking, but I had never done it with snowshoes. Not to worry, Tom from Perfect Vermont(pictured below), was a great guide. The Riverside Farm is at the base of the mountain we climbed. And although we eventually ran out of snow, and had to take off our snowshoes, it was an awesome adventure.
I had a fantastic time, and I hope I have the opportunity to visit again!
Sending a big thank you all to these awesome folks who made our stay amazing!

2014 got off to a great start! Last weekend I photographed the most gorgeous winter wedding. Laura & Jon were wed at The Captain’s Manor Inn here in Falmouth. Laura is a dear friend and a wedding planner, so I knew her day would be extra special. And despite knowing her talents, I was blown away by the whole affair! I can not wait to share more, but for now here is a small preview…
Congratulations, Laura & Jon! I wish you all the best, and can’t wait to see what life has in store for you! xo
